Ingredients
- 8 oz (227 grams) Oats
- 4 oz (113 grams) Butter
- 2 oz (57 grams) Sugar
- Tiny pinch of Salt
Requirements: Shallow baking tin, greased and lightly floured.
Using a mortar and pestle break down the oats into rough powder (if mortar and pestle is not available then place the oats in-between a clean tea towel and use the end of a rolling pin to turn the oats to rough grain.)
Method:
- Cream together the butter and sugar
- Add a tiny pinch of salt
- Introduce the oats and mix well in
- Scoop out and placed into the floured tin
- Flatten down with the back of a tablespoon
- Bake for approximately 20 minutes at Gas Mark 5 – 190°C - 375°F
- Allow to cool – when cold to the touch take a sharp kitchen knife and slice into fat fingers
