Ingredients
- 8 oz (227 grams) Plain flour
- 1 oz (28 grams) Butter
- 1 Egg
- 1 Heaped teaspoon of Baking powder
- Tiny pinch of salt
- Small amount of Milk to bind
Method
- Rub in the butter into the flour
- Add the salt and baking powder
- Whisk up the egg
- Make a well in the flour mixture
- Pour in the egg and a splash of milk
- Knead the mixture into a dough ball
- Place the dough onto a floured board
- Roll out the dough until it measures 1” (2.5 cm) thick
- Cut out the dough into circles
- Place onto a greased and floured baking tray
- Bake at Gas Mark 6 – 200°C - 400°F for 10 to 15 minutes until lightly golden
